A Circle with New Faces

The circle started small but grew as we read at the Gone Wired Cafe. Thanks to everyone who joined Deena, Marycela, and Melissa, by braving the busy parking lots filled with bar hoppers. We hope to see you at the next S&T open mic on April 7!

Recognitions for the evening...

Welcome to newcomers Anaya, Diane, Karl, Tracey, and Ulli!

Thanks to Aaron for coming back to the circle.

Praise for Ulli, who graced us with her very first open mic reading!

Props to Karl for breaking his silence of many years.

And here are some kernels from the reading...

nothing seems certain but that blue metal box --Ulli

the correct combination of suits was essential --Aaron

I am over the middle class American wife life --Deena

perhaps behind the door there is no other side --Marycela reading Octovio Paz

their smiles stay incarcerated --Anaya

I say you're nobody until you love yourself --Diane

put your shit on the paper --Melissa reading Gloria Anzaldua

And soon to come -- pictures from the evening!
